Guided by the founder’s hands-on coffee expertise — from selecting beans at the roastery to refining their expression in the bottle — ShiShiZa was shaped through a distinctive combination of coffee knowledge, purposeful development and Croatian craft.

In Africa, the birthplace of coffee and home to this magnificent animal.

In Japan, Shi-Shi-Za (獅子座) is the name of the constellation of Leo — reflecting strength, confidence and the Kaizen philosophy of continuous improvement.

And in Croatia, where ShiShiZa is crafted, the lion appears in the historic coat of arms — a lasting symbol of strength and craft.

Together, these three worlds shaped ShiShiZa, with the lion becoming its natural emblem of balance, boldness and spirit.

From the beginning, our purpose was clear: to bring new life to coffee liqueurs.

Crafted to be served chilled or over ice — yet versatile enough to inspire cocktails — ShiShiZa honours the culture of coffee while offering something truly distinctive: an artisan coffee liqueur that connects people and elevates moments.

Guided by patience and precision, we embraced the Power of Three — African coffee for complexity, Japanese Kaizen for precision and Croatian craft for balance.

Each stage of development was refined with purpose across fourteen iterations, until harmony was achieved — a journey reflecting our philosophy of continuous improvement and echoing the infinite precision of Pi (π).

THE NAME AND THE SYMBOL

The name ShiShiZa, pronounced - She-She-Za, was chosen with purpose, inspired by the Japanese name for the constellation of Leo.

As the coffee liqueur took shape through continuous refinement, its character revealed itself — bold, smooth and confident enough to stand alone.

These qualities reflect the lion: strength, confidence and character.

After more than a decade immersed in the world of coffee, I set myself a challenge that the coffee liqueurs category had never solved: to create a distinctive artisan coffee liqueur that could stand proudly on its own while maintaining its character in cocktails.

Finding that balance wasn’t easy — but through fourteen purposeful refinements, ShiShiZa emerged with the structure, smoothness and character we set out to achieve.
